about

Under the clouds rolling in off the coast, a warning pulse reverberates along the ground. Something is coming.

A spacious ambient guitar loop circling back when we least expect it, bringing occasional light through the dark clouds of implied static and thunder. Keyboards pulse through the piece, occasionally throwing melodic lines out to hold onto the weatherscape. Towards the end, the sonar picks up an approaching unidentified mass, signalling impending doom.

“You Were Warned comes in on glacial electronic waves, which take on a heartbeat, albeit non-human...percussion sprinkles sunspots across the glacial landscape...one realises the ominous atmosphere has been building since the beginning, and machine grinding heralds an industrial presence. One also realises how beautiful the ominous can be. We slide out on a sheen of strings, and popping bleeps and corkscrew sounds that bring to mind a language we haven’t learned yet. We have been warned…” John Hardaker - Sydney-based jazz, blues and rock guitarist, band leader, graphic designer, music blogger and music reviewer for Australian Jazz.

About Delays Have Dangerous Ends
“Imagine Vangelis and Alexander Hacke had unprotected sex and the spawn of their reptilian egg (which had two yolks) formed a sonic duo of soaring proportions who took you into the kind of sonic hell where Brian Eno will finally rest after the great Enocalypse of 2157. Ladies and mutants, this is Delays Have Dangerous Ends.” Josh Shipton: Curator EVIL - Experimental Vs Improvised Live Sydney, Blue Eyed Ravens, Triangle, The Clown Bride
